こんにちは 1st Blog Post Of Many Growing up, anime and manga were constantly spread around my house. Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball was frequently mentioned by my family members—along with other works. As such, most of my life has been filled with Japanese culture. It feels most appropriate to learn the language that is most often utilized in the aforementioned animated works. . In addition to anime and manga, I have long enjoyed Japanese cuisine. More specifically, I have a liking for sushi(すし), okonomiyaki(おこのみやき), ramen (らめん), tempura, and yakisoba (やきそば). These commodifies are largely savory and have a distinct flavor—which adds variety to my diet and leaves me curious about other Japanese meals. Overall, I am an adventurous person who loves to explore new concepts and ideas. I also find myself in favor of homogeneity—a core principle in Japan.

An Interesting Series こにちは。Last week, I spent a great deal of time watching a series known as Tokyo Ghoul . It was an interesting plot that begged the question of whether or not humans can truly coexist with entities that feed on humans. Compared to other action-oriented anime, the series seemed to focus much more on the setting/environment by carefully adjusting the lighting to give off a dark and melancholic atmosphere. I highly recommend the series to anyone who craves a deeply philosophical story with hints of Japanese culture. Also, the series allowed me to practice some of my Japanese. Words such as しつれいします、おはよございます、ありがとうございます、いってきます、and いってらっしゃい were frequently used. Unfortunately, I could not fully make out some of the longer sentences due to a lack of understanding of certain particles. However, I still feel that I reinforced some of my vocabulary! さようなら。
